We are Local Anchor and Pitchfork Studio.
Local Anchor 603 is a retail shop located at 62 Market Street in downtown Portsmouth, NH. We "re-invented" the original shop, "Tulips" who had graced downtown Portsmouth for 25 years as an original artisan gift shop. We have continued their legacy by becoming the Seacoast's anchor to the local community through art and design. We are inspired by anything that encourages outdoor exploration of coastal New England and beyond.
Our shop highlights the creations of local makers and creators, eco-friendly designs, our own signature work (Pitchfork Studio) and cool finds from creators we discover during our travels to other small communities.
Our silversmithing studio, Pitchfork Studio is located in Exeter, NH, another lovely, small New England town.
Created by Sean, master jeweler who holds a BFA in metals from Maine College of Art and Nina who has 20+ years in marketing, an amateur silversmith and a studious apprentice of Sean.
Pitchfork Studio and Sean's designs are precise and balanced, incorporating clean, geometric lines inspired by the outdoor and urban landscapes we enjoy exploring.
Our signature Lobster Tag bracelets came to be from our regular, local beach walks. Strewn about the beach (and most beaches in New England) were lobster traps adorned with colorful plastic tags that identify the lobster boats and traps. Thinking these colorful tags could be repurposed, we turned them into bracelets. A homage to the seacoast, the lobstermen/woman, and the environment. A portion of proceeds from the plastic, original tag bracelets go towards supporting lobsterman associations in Maine, NH and Mass.
